I went along on the trip to Tulum with my girlfriend who wanted to advance her kitesurfing skills. I had never had a chance to do it before as I was recovering from a broken ankle when she started lessons. So, with my ankle still not being great and my fitness levels at the lowest they’ve ever been, I was extremely nervous.

However Chelu and her team were awesome. They made me feel completely at ease, were aware of my injury and made sure I was ok with everything and looked after me. They are very chilled, safety aware and want everyone to do well. I really enjoyed my lessons.

I am vegetarian. Great care was taken to look after me and make sure all my meals were suitable along with others who had other dietary needs. I really felt like Kite Sisters went above and beyond to make sure we had a perfect trip. Tulum and particularly the place we stayed were beautiful. The diving was incredible.

I met some amazing women on the trip. Everyone was friendly and lovely. We were the only couple in the group but having been on this trip I would definitely feel comfortable booking to go on a kite sisters trip alone … that being said, my girlfriend may object to that! We would love to do the Belize trip next time!

I had a great time at the Kite Sisters camp in Tulum Mexico. Chelu, Octavio, Marco and Paula took care of every detail from before our arrival to the day we left to ensure everyone had the best possible time. I met a great bunch of women from all over the world to share kiting and diving adventures with. They took us off the beaten track to places we would never have otherwise experienced. No matter what your level of kiting experience the kite sisters team are there to give you help and advice. I can’t wait for my next Kite Sisters trip!

Tulum, April 2015 – The trip was one of the best experiences in my life. Chelu, Octavio and their team were very professional and always paying attention to the trip details. Delicious food! Spectacular stay! Chelu is an excellent instructor. She teached me from the basics to standing on the board, making me feel safe in what I was doing. It has been a week since I arrived from my trip to Tulum and I already want to have a second trip with the Kite Sisters. I love my sisters!

If you are thinking about going on a trip with the Kite Sisters trust me, you should just GO!
Chelu and Octa make the trip so incredibly awesome. The Tulum location was beautiful, the food was delicious, the accomodations were lovely… it was all around a fantastic trip. We had all levels of kite sisters from beginner to advanced and everyone had a great time. We also had a really great range of ages; from about 25 to 55. The conversation on the beach and at meals was always interesting because we had sisters from all over the world. Chelu and Ocat are very much on top of things so I felt very safe in the water. When we had a day of no wind we took a road trip to another location that was totally windy and epic…. flat water for miles and miles. It was incredible. I have been kiting for many years and have been on many trips but this one was definitely one of my favorites.

This was my second Kite Sisters trip and I loved it equally as much as Peru. Every detail was thought through and the instruction was perfect. Chelu is the best instructor I have ever had and she has pushed me to do things I haven’t been able to do thus. She is both patient and confident in her skillset. The experience as a whole was very special. From the beautiful beach-front accomodations, to the new friendships, and great food. The list goes on! Most importantly, I have a lasting memory in my heart and I will most definitely be returning for more Kite Sister trips. Thank you Chelu and Octavio.

I took my 2nd trip with Kite Sisters this spring, and will be back for more!! Chelu, Octavio and team organize everything from airport transfer, accommodation, kite lessons, and occasional trouble shooting – but it’s no lazy resort vacation! And in all the best ways! Whether on the water, sharing meals, or enjoying quiet time alone….you are always engaged in the moment.
The kite sisters crew does a great job of adjusting instruction to your skill level, and you are involved in set up and packing up. For a beginner, a thorough introduction to the sport. And for more experienced riders, video and knowledgeable coaching to get you to the next level. The instructors are patient and professional. The environment is open, genuine and supportive. An opportunity to meet and be inspired by an amazing group of women at various levels. Plus daily yoga and time to explore the area. I laughed hysterically and was challenged every day – what’s not to love?! Highly recommend!!!

Attending a kitesisters camp was the perfect experience for me to continue learning to kitesurf. The location and accommodations are beautiful, the meals prepared by the chef are truly exceptional (this is a gross understatement! – I really appreciated all the amazing meals prepared for us) and the entire crew is first class. A true sisterhood forms surprisingly quickly among total strangers, all unique and with varied backgrounds but with a common goal of challenging themselves with a spirit of adventure. The sisterhood that forms in the camp is one that is supportive, encouraging, caring, and full of fun and laughter. Chelu, a sincere and genuine person with a deep passion for her work, runs a very organized program where she and her crew go above and beyond to ensure all your needs are met. Leaving my husband and daughters and travelling solo, I wondered how I would manage, but I felt at home immediately. My instructor, Roberto, was a superb teacher and was well suited for me. I found him to be patient, supportive, precise in his instruction and consistent from day to day. He builds a rapport of trust and shows a genuine interest in your progress. I left the week feeling 100x more skilled and capable to move on to the next level. It was a huge confidence builder for me and validated my persuit to learn kiting in my mid-forties, that its NOT a crazy notion! I miss my sisters and the spirit of the sisterhood that is uniquely present and intangible. It was an amazing experience I will forever be grateful for. Definitely thinking about my next trip already!

As a complete beginner to kiteboarding, I was extremely nervous and had no clue what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised with the care and detail Chelu and Octavio put into each camp. I never had to worry about anything! We were taken care of so we could focus on connecting with the girls and kiteboarding while also enjoying a vacation. I learned so much and would recommend a camp like this if you are interested in the sport.

Beyond getting back on the board, having first-class coaching, an amazing home for the week and eating scrumptious food, Kite Sisters was incredible for finding a community of worldly exciting women who share a passion. I now have kite friends in Canada, California, Utah, Switzerland and the Cayman Islands, as well as wherever Kite Sisters are on their kiteboard camp circuit of Dominican Republic, Peru, Morocco, Mexico and Belize. No excuse!! Kite more!

Just returned from a Kite Sisters camp in Tulum, Mexico. This trip was 6 years in the making, and I’m thrilled that I finally got the time (and nerve!) to go. While I signed up for the trip primarily with the goal of learning how to kite surf, I came away with something even better – new “sisters” from across the globe who shared the challenges and triumphs in the course of a week of sun and fun where we all became better kite surfers and people. In addition to amazingly beautiful accommodations in a gorgeous place, delicious meals prepared by an awesomely talented chef, revitalizing yoga sessions where you could hear the ocean and see exotic birds flying overhead, and excellent top-notch instruction (and my previous instructor competed on the Kite Surf Pro World Tour, so that’s saying something!), the true value I gained from this trip was the camaraderie with girls who encouraged me to do and be my best while in Mexico and beyond. We have stayed in touch, and it’s great that the encouragement and support continues. Hearing about the changes we are each making in our lives – re-prioritizing things in our careers to focus on the tasks that really matter and enrich our lives, taking chances we wouldn’t have previously contemplated, and getting involved in pursuits that we didn’t even dream of before should illustrate for anybody interested in going on one of these trips that the value of such a trip can’t be measured in dollars. This was one of the most enriching experiences of my adult life, and I’m so very grateful to Chelu, Octavio, coaches Mink and Roberto, chef Juan, and Martin, for the privilege of being part of one of their camps. I highly recommend a Kite Sisters camp without hesitation, and I cannot wait to go on my next one! Looking forward to meeting more sisters!
